Today I have a bitter-sweet post to share. It's bitter-sweet in that changes are happening that make me sad for myself, but happy for another (if that makes sense).
My good friend and coworker Sherrie Siemens is leaving the Copic Regional Certification Instructor team and moving on to the next adventure in her life... SCHOOL! I'm so excited for her and her family as they embark on this new journey.
I'll miss Sherrie tremendously, but she knows (as do I) that true friendship has blossomed between us and that won't ever change, no matter how many miles or days separate us.
Today, the entire Copic Instructor team is getting together for a surprise send-off hop for Sherrie, and I want to share a few of my memories of working with her.
- When I first started with the team, I did a training class where I observed Sherrie teach. I was in AWE of her poise and calm and patience with everyone there (including me)... and I endeavored to have those same qualities in my classes.
- Toronto... I probably don't need to say more (at least for Sherrie)... but funny thing, I DO remember it fondly! All of our supplies for two days of teaching got caught up in customs... we had nothing... NADA... except a few copies of images I had stuffed in my own marker sets. Sherrie (again with poise and grace) grabbed a cab and headed to a craft store in town to do some "shopping" for anything and everything we might be able to use in class. It turned out to be one of the best actually! And I loved bonding with Sherrie over our shared panic. :)
- Sherrie ALWAYS had my back. Whether it was jumping in to help out, sharing positive feedback, or demoing strange techniques with a smile, Sherrie was supportive in the most kind and caring way.
I will miss seeing Sherrie at trade shows and classes; I will miss her lovely smile and lively laugh; I will miss her warm hugs. I will miss her.
But know this... I'm SO proud of Sherrie! And I'm blessed and honored to ALWAYS call her a friend.
Here's to you sweetheart! Congratulations and Good Luck!
Head on over to the rest of the instructor's blogs for more warm wishes and sendoff fun!
Thanks for stopping by! Have a Colorful day!
