It's the weekend and I'm having fun!!! I'm making sure I take some time for my family and friends and, of course, myself - to relax and enjoy. My hubby took me to see Inception last night... I thought it was amazing and I was able to totally keep up. I loved it!
And today I'm headed downtown to meet up with three other stamping friends. One is my neighbor Jackie... and the other two I'm meeting for the first time! I'm so excited to me meeting Kim and Libby... Libby and I have been friends on-line for YEARS and Kim also lives in the Atlanta area and is sure to become a stamping pal.
So, it's been a great weekend so far and I'm smiling big... showing my pearly whites...
Which is a GREAT lead in to this week's challenge over at Kraftin' Kimmie's Stamps! The challenge... pearly whites.
Here's what I did. I didn't want to be TOO literal...so I colored this gorgeous fairy image in and created a shimmery, pearly white set of wings for her. Instead of adding the literal glitter or shimmer, I created a translucent "white" with my cool grays and then added dots of texture by pulling color out with my colorless blender pen. Of course, I couldn't resist coloring the fabric stripes white too...(by coloring them gray that is).
The pearls... yeah, you can't see them that well in this photo...but there are a line of them going across the top of the card as embellishments. I was going to color them blue... but of course, that wouldn't be in the spirit of the challenge... or would it??? LOL
Have a wonderful weekend... make sure to stop over at the Kraftin' Kimmie Blog to see what the other designers did for this week's challenge and join on in!
